Three Days, Two Friends and One Room!
It took 3 days and 2 friends to paint 1 room!
Over this past weekend starting on Friday and ending Sunday, I painted my room. It started with my mom helping me by moving pretty much everything out of my room while I was at work and picking up paint. Since she helped me, I was able to start painting my closet. Which lead me have paint all over me and even in my hair. So I apologize to my hairdresser in advance. Although I got most of it out and I was still able to hang out with my friends after painting without my hair covered in paint. My closet is small has an angled ceiling so it is a tight space which lead to paint in my hair. Saturday was went I got most of the painting done, started by painting the ceiling on one half of the room then the walls and continued on to the second half of the room. I found it easier and a better idea to start with the white paint because the pink would cover the white so I had a some room for error. By 6pm on Saturday, I had the closet, ceiling and three white walls complete, so after dinner my goal was to get the pink wall done and some of the trim. My goal was completed because two of my friends came to help me with the "fun part" as the considered it which was the pink wall. Since we finished the pink wall so fast I convinced them to help with the trim which took a little more patience since it we couldn't get on the floor or on the newly painted pink wall. Once it was 10pm we all were done with half the trim so we called it quits for the day and they headed home while I cleaned up. Sunday was a finishing touches day so it went by like a breeze.
I am extremely proud of myself for painting my room and how it turned out. I might be basis but I think I did an amazing job for my second time painting a bedroom. And I know I did a better job than the first time...sometimes I feel like I should go back and finish that room the right way but I know I can't do anything about it now.
Since everything is dry, I have to move everything back into room and now I am trying to convince my mom to let me bring my full bed back into the room and remove the twin beds so I can have a desk to work on my design projects and continue to build my portfolio and blog. This has been a work in progress for a while and she hasn't caved yet but I think I have her convinced. All I have to do is figure out where I can store the twin bed frames and one the mattress because I told her that I would keep one of the mattress under my bed for guest. I already have a desk that I want and someone that will help me build it so I don't have to convince my dad to build it.
As I slowly move back into my room I will keep y'all updated.
XOXO
