BYE BYE Cream!
Hey Y'all
So, I am back in my childhood bedroom that has seen many different paint jobs and rearrangements over the years. I remember one time we had Hawaiian themed flowers and leaves painted stamps along the walls in a line that was about half way up the wall. Of course, each stamp was a different color painted on a white wall with flower printed curtains. As I think back on to this...I wonder what my mom and my sister were thinking. It didn't last long. During high school my room was bright orange, dark hot pink and cream. I picked the colors off a bedspread that I am sure I had to have. I am glad that there is only one picture of that room that never will be seen by public eye. I constantly have that "what were you thinking" moment when I look back on that room and thank god that it is gone.
The only thing that is still left over from that high school color choice is the cream. After I left for college, my mom painted over the orange and dark hot pink with the cream and got rid of my full-size bed and put two twin bed in there. Guess who had to pick up the twin mattress from Costco? If you guessed me, then you are right. My best friend and I went to pick them up in my cousin's old trail blazer. It was quite a seen watching us take the mattress off the stack, check them out and load them into the car. Then I spent have the day driving them around.
After living in the room, for almost two years I am ready for the cream to go. So, my mom and I have decided to paint the room white and light pink. Yes, I know you are thinking two things. One, why do I have to get my mom's permission? Because I am repeatedly reminded that I am guess in her house. Second, I get that light pink reminds everyone of a little girl nursery and no I am not having a baby...lol. Got to be careful on which color of light pink you pick. For my bedroom, we have picked three shades of light pink. We stuck to more the peachy side of light pink so it is not that true nursery pink.
Now that I got the colors, I got to wait for the rain and wet weather to stop so I can paint the samples on the wall and pick one of my three Benjamin Moore colors which are Pink Swirl, Powder Pink and Touch of Pink. Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace is the white that I picked. I really like all the colors but we will see how they looks on the walls and pick the best one!
I will continue to update you on the progress!
XOXO
